Created in 2000, ADEMTECH SA, a company based in PESSAC (Gironde) and initially owing a large know-how in Emulsion technology has developed and produced superparamagnetic nanoparticles for in vitro diagnostic and life sciences.
The association of complementary skills such as physicochemistry, polymer chemistry, immunology, cellular biology, molecular biology and virology leads to the development of novel nano-objects with unique characteristics.
Ademtech manufactures calibrated particles (CV<20%) of 100 to 500 nm, with high magnetic content (70% of iron oxides) and controlled surface bearing various functionalities – carboxylic acids and amine – and biological activities brought by streptavidine, antibodies or proteins A and G.
These magnetic particles are especially designed for concentration, separation, purification and identification of molecules and specific cells. Besides, they are particularly suitable for integration in microfluidic devices.
Ademtech offers its core expertise to customised coupling services based on the nano particules in order to develop specific purification tools.
For the near future, ADEMTECH is developing some diagnostic and scientific research applications offering a global solution to the costumers including devices and instruments.
|A proprietary technology guarantees a reproductible manufacturing process of calibrated magnetic emulsions. The fragmentation under controlled shearing allows for the preparation of 100 to 500 nm uniform magnetic emulsions (see figure below).|
The nanoparticles are superparamagnetic : they exhibit magnetic properties only when placed within a magnetic field and show no residual magnetism when removed from this field.
Self-organisation of magnetic particles occurs when stimulated by a magnetic field. Separation is gentle and no column or centrifugations are necessary.
Ademtech has developed in-house polymerisation process ensuring an efficient isolation of the magnetic core, a tuneable functionalisation and a high colloidal stability.
The polymer provides the magnetic core with a uniform protective shell in order to isolate iron oxides that can interfere with some enzymatic reactions (as shown on Transmission Electron Microscopy photos).
The hydrophilic surface lowers non-specific interactions with proteins.
The high magnetic content (more than 70%) ensures a quick and gentle magnetic separation even for the smallest particles with a simple magnet.
Ademtech has developed simple and reproductible protocols for coupling proteins to its nanoparticles yielding to high binding capacities while keeping non-specific binding low and ensuring long-term stability.

|ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certifications
Our Product development, Manufacture, Marketing and Sales Departments have been awarded certification under the International Standard ISO 9001 version 2008 since February 2003. Sensitive to the environment, ADEMTECH committed since March 2012 in a continuous improvement program to limit the environmental impact of its activities.
Primary objectives were established to meet the quality and environment commitments:
- Control the quality and cost of production
- Meet deadlines
- Diversify the supply to meet the expectations
- Control our energy spending, our resource use and CO2 emissions
- Collect, control and recycle as much as possible pollutants and waste that may be produced by the company's activities
- Respect commitments to our shareholders
- Respect(meet) legal requirements applicable to the Company
This double certification requires a company to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet the needs of its customers. Therefor it needs to continually improve its quality and environment management system.
We are seeking talented and motivated individuals to join our dynamic team in helping develop tools that advance life sciences research.
